Bilder: I skolan.

I skolan fick vi i uppdrag att kort beskriva ” hållbarhetens roll “ i kommunikation/reklam. (givetvis utan att nämna vårt hemliga slutprojekt, men vi kan ju säga att det handlar om miljö i alla fall…) Tillsammans med Elin skrev jag texten som kommer att ligga som en voice over i en kort film om oss på www.asustainableplan.se som är Berghs offentliga hemsida för slututställningen.

The role of communicators used to be to sell products. Through mass media the advertising agencies glorified just about anything, from shampoo to ham, without really knowing what consumers wanted or thought important. Today consumers are more aware and with the help of technology they share their opinions on the internet, reaching the vast majority. And since everything is discussed in the open companies have become more vulnerable. To stand out and survive they have to offer something more than just a product and listen to their consumers’ needs.  Frankly, we live in a humble and empathetic time where we show compassion for people through charity and where more people choose organic milk over regular. The communicators’ responsibility is to make consumers understand the importance of sustainability. Make people aware. Understand that their choices matter and that it can lead to something good. We’re not saying that our role as communicators is to save the world, but to improve it. As they say, many a little makes a mickle.
